About The Position

Alliance Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and service-oriented Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This position serves as a key partner, providing comprehensive Human Resources support that promotes employee success, ensures regulatory compliance, and advances the organization's mission of delivering exceptional behavioral healthcare services to the communities we serve. The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering and coordinating a broad range of Human Resources functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, HRIS administration, employee status changes, performance management support, policy interpretation, compliance, personnel records, and recruitment support. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders by providing guidance on Human Resources policies, procedures, and employment practices while ensuring consistent application of organizational standards and employment laws. Working closely with the Human Resources Director, the Senior Human Resources Generalist helps maintain efficient and compliant HR operations, supports employee engagement and organizational initiatives, and contributes to a positive, inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Alliance Healthcare Services' strategic goals and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience administering employee benefits and leave programs required.
  • Experience with HRIS systems required.
  • Thorough knowledge of: FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, COBRA, FLSA, EEOC regulations, Employment law and HR compliance.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using ADP Workforce Now is required.
  • Experience managing confidential employee records.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies consistently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Healthcare or behavioral healthcare experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement benefit programs.
  • Manage employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Coordinate annual Open Enrollment activities.
  • Determine benefit eligibility and educate employees regarding available benefits.
  • Administer COBRA and related continuation benefits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with benefit vendors and insurance carriers.
  • Resolve employee benefit questions and issues promptly.
  • Administer Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests and tracking.
  • Manage personal leave requests and leave documentation.
  • Coordinate military leave in accordance with USERRA requirements.
  • Facilitate the ADA interactive process and reasonable accommodation requests.
  • Coordinate Workers' Compensation claims with insurance carriers and leadership.
  • Manage unemployment claims, hearings, and related documentation.
  • Ensure all leave administration complies with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data accuracy.
  • Process new hire onboarding and employment documentation.
  • Coordinate employment verifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Form I-9 and employment eligibility requirements.
  • Coordinate background checks and pre-employment drug screenings.
  • Process employee status changes, including: Promotions, Transfers, Compensation changes, Department changes, Terminations.
  • Maintain complete and confidential personnel files.
  • Support policy administration and employee communications.
  • Administer and interpret Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation and employment records.
  • Assist with internal and external HR audits.
  • Prepare required compliance reports and documentation.
  • Support regulatory inspections and accreditation activities as needed.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with employee relations matters as assigned.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and employee service.
  • Participate in HR projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
