About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for the human resources (HR) function within the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES) headquarters. This role involves providing comprehensive, responsive, and transparent support for various HR activities. Key responsibilities include managing HR inquiries, facilitating recruitment and onboarding processes, and coordinating initiatives related to rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and compensation. The position also entails handling complex and diverse duties across multiple projects and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of human resources experience.
  • General knowledge of the HR function, including employment law, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and onboarding.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Ability to distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and proactively anticipate issues and complications to processes.
  • Ability to take action to address needs and recognize opportunities for change.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to resolve problems in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Ability to anticipate and act on the needs of direct managers and other stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with HR and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Brio, Kronos).
  • Experience with Quickbase.
  • Experience at MIT or in higher education.
