Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Coordinator with automotive experience is considered an asset
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • CHRP Designation or working towards one is an asset
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of employment and labour laws, HR procedures and practices, legislative provisions regarding recruitment, employment equity, compensation, and health and safety required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, self-manage projects, prioritize workload, and maintain concentration and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
  • Positive, solution driven “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to coach employees at all levels through difficult situations, ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues using judgment consistent with the organization's preferences and priorities
  • Computer skills in the area of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Assist in full-cycle recruitment (on-boarding and off-boarding), including creating, posting, and managing job advertisements, screening and arranging interviews with candidates, and conducting reference checks
  • Update employee files in HRIS system for new hires, changes, transfers, wage changes, and terminations
  • Conduct training including (WHMIS, Worker Health & Safety Awareness etc.)
  • Tracks and files all employee-related documents i.e. Performance Warnings, Reviews, Policy Sign-offs, etc.
  • Provides general Administrative Support such as preparation of general letters i.e. employment verification, employment offers and transfer/promotion
  • Participate in the execution of Employee Surveys
  • Responsible for the administration of the employee benefit plan, including fielding employee questions and annual re-enrolment
  • Assists with the management of the Long-Term Disability, Accommodation, and Benefits programs
  • Ensure timely completion of accident and incident reports, keep records of the same and submit reports to WSIB
  • Provides intake and assessment advice to the HR Director regarding employee issues and their impact on performance. Determines root causes of issues and recommends appropriate plans for resolution
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise according to Company Policy, ESA guidelines, and Human Rights
  • Liaison with the Joint Health & Safety Committee to ensure schedule, attendance, and record-keeping of regular Health and Safety committee meetings
  • Other responsibilities as required
