About The Position

The seasonal Human Resources Assistant serves as a first-level resource for the broader Commerce People organization, supporting employees and managers with a wide range of HR needs including onboarding, I-9 compliance, data integrity, benefits inquiries, and HR process documentation. This role partners cross-functionally with technology, shared services, and HR leadership to streamline administrative workflows and resolve employee inquiries with accuracy and care. The HR Coordinator delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in human resources and/or a customer-facing role, with a preference for direct HR experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with sensitive employee information, exercising sound discretion at all times.
  • Experience with HR systems and the ability to understand technical requirements; comfort serving as a system resource and trainer for employees and managers.
  • Proficiency with documentation management and project management tools, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR leaders across the organization to identify opportunities to streamline administrative tasks and improve team workflows and habits.
  • Partner with the technology team to coordinate equipment and software setup for new hires, ensuring a smooth day-one experience.
  • Serve as a liaison between Commerce and the FHI shared services team on HR system capabilities, continuously building knowledge to better support the broader People organization.
  • Initiate and monitor new employee onboarding from offer through day one, communicating effectively with employees and new hires at all levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic-level HR issues, ensuring timely responses and follow-up so employees feel heard and supported.
  • Train and educate employees and managers on HR self-service options and capabilities, empowering them to navigate people processes with confidence.
  • Handle employee inquiries related to onboarding, I-9s, background checks, terminations, exit interviews, status changes, visas, and general benefits questions with professionalism and care.
  • Continuously pursue process and system efficiencies, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve the quality of HR service delivery.
  • Maintain and update HR process and SLA documentation regularly, drafting new materials as organizational needs evolve.
  • Apply project management skills — including intake, scoping, timeline management, and stakeholder communication — to drive HR initiatives from start to finish.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in learning new HR systems and tools to enhance support capabilities across the People team.
  • Ensure data accuracy and maintain a high level of data integrity across HR systems, owning administrative, data entry, reporting, and reconciliation tasks with precision.
  • Ensure I-9 compliance for all new hires, monitoring documentation requirements and deadlines without exception.
  • Operate with high levels of confidentiality and integrity in all employee-related matters, exercising discretion when interfacing with the business.
  • Flex work hours as needed during high-volume periods to ensure consistent, reliable HR support for the organization.
  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
  • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working.
