About The Position

Fanatics Commerce is seeking a seasonal Human Resources Assistant for a 4-month contract to support day-to-day people operations during a peak hiring period. This role will serve as a first-level resource for the Commerce People organization, assisting employees and managers with onboarding, I-9 compliance, data integrity, benefits inquiries, and HR process documentation. The position involves cross-functional collaboration with technology, shared services, and HR leadership to streamline administrative workflows and resolve employee inquiries efficiently and accurately. The HR Coordinator is expected to leverage data, automation, and AI-enabled insights to drive business and fan impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in human resources and/or a customer-facing role, with a preference for direct HR experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with sensitive employee information, exercising sound discretion at all times.
  • Experience with HR systems and the ability to understand technical requirements; comfort serving as a system resource and trainer for employees and managers.
  • Proficiency with documentation management and project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR leaders to identify opportunities for streamlining administrative tasks and improving team workflows.
  • Partner with the technology team to coordinate equipment and software setup for new hires.
  • Serve as a liaison between Commerce and the FHI shared services team on HR system capabilities.
  • Initiate and monitor new employee onboarding from offer through day one.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic-level HR issues, ensuring timely responses and follow-up.
  • Train and educate employees and managers on HR self-service options and capabilities.
  • Handle employee inquiries related to onboarding, I-9s, background checks, terminations, exit interviews, status changes, visas, and general benefits questions.
  • Continuously pursue process and system efficiencies, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve HR service delivery quality.
  • Maintain and update HR process and SLA documentation regularly, drafting new materials as needed.
  • Apply project management skills to drive HR initiatives from start to finish.
  • Ensure data accuracy and maintain a high level of data integrity across HR systems, owning administrative, data entry, reporting, and reconciliation tasks.
  • Ensure I-9 compliance for all new hires, monitoring documentation requirements and deadlines.
  • Operate with high levels of confidentiality and integrity in all employee-related matters.
  • Flex work hours as needed during high-volume periods to ensure consistent, reliable HR support.
