About The Position

The Seasonal Human Resources Generalist position is located in Olive Branch, MS. This role supports various tactical HR functions within the distribution center environment. Their Supply Chain Organization is dynamic and fast-paced, with a significant presence in distribution, manufacturing, and transportation. The Supply Chain network includes large package/furniture distribution centers, small package eCommerce distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, a transportation department, and global sourcing offices. The Olive Branch, MS facility is a small package eCommerce distribution center that utilizes seasonal/temporary associates.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years Human Resources experience, preferably in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, retail, or other fast-paced operational environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical capability and problem solving skills.
  • Clear communication and professional interpersonal skills, with an innovative and proactive spirit that adapts quickly to a distribution environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace, high volume environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and overtime as needed.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to use computer for an extended period of time.
  • Repetitive movement with hand and fingers to operate a computer, phone, and keyboard.

Responsibilities

  • Support various tactical HR functions, including streamlining communications, assisting with process improvements for ad-hoc HR programs, pulling reports for client requests, answering questions related to policies and procedures, leaves of absence, and other HR-related topics.
  • Maintain org charts and associate lists, process associate changes, schedule meetings, and provide additional administrative HR support as needed.
  • Address, document, and help resolve routine associate matters while escalating more complex issues as appropriate.
  • Provide coaching and support to associates on HR-related questions, concerns, and policies specific to the overall operation.
  • Maintain a visible HR presence throughout the distribution center, including regular floor walks and associate engagement.
  • Proactively identify concerns and provide timely HR support to Operations.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and COE colleagues to leverage expertise and best practices across business teams.
  • Collaborate with HR counterparts to facilitate and support HR programs across the operations group, including succession planning, performance management, internship programs, and other initiatives.
  • Analyze retention, exit interview data, and other HR-related information to provide qualitative, quantitative, and actionable insights.
  • Provide support in welcoming and properly exiting associates at WSI.
  • Partner with Operations and Recruiting to identify and resolve seasonal onboarding issues.
  • Support recognition programs by coordinating communications, tracking nominations, and helping manage program activities.
  • Provide flexible HR coverage during Peak, including supporting multiple shifts, high-volume associate inquiries, and other operational priorities.
  • Support clients within the supply chain network.
  • Other duties as assigned.
