About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services, specifically the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Analyst. This role supports a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, classification, and personnel administration, playing a key role in ensuring the facility’s HR operations run efficiently and in accordance with state policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Three years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor’s degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment and selection activities, including posting vacancies, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and processing hiring paperwork.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and departmental policies.
  • Provide support in classification and compensation matters, including position reviews, job analysis, and salary determinations.
  • Process personnel actions such as promotions, reallocations, separations, and disciplinary documents in accordance with Civil Service rules.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors by responding to inquiries related to HR policies, leave programs, benefits, and workplace procedures.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across the facility.
