About The Position

As a Journeyman Human Resources Administrative Assistant, you will provide direct administrative support to Air Force personnel programs, with a focus on awards and recognition, timekeeping, and HR operations. You’ll manage award packages and tracking, support ATAAPS timekeeping, coordinate with government personnel and leadership, and maintain accurate, audit-ready records in accordance with Air Force and DoD requirements. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must hold an active secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • 3+ years within a DoD setting.
  • Must have minimum of a high school diploma.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with virtual routing tools (e.g., myFSS, DEOCS).
  • Understanding of military structure, rank, and customs/courtesies.
  • Experience coordinating ceremonies or formal events.
  • Knowledge of civilian awards processes (e.g., DoD civilian awards, Air Force civilian recognition).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer military and civilian awards and decorations programs in accordance with Air Force Instructions (AFIs), DoD guidance, and local policy.
  • Prepare, track, and process award packages, citations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure timely submission and routing of awards through appropriate approval chains.
  • Review award recommendations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Maintain databases and trackers for award submissions, suspense dates, and award histories.
  • Coordinate with POCs, commanders, and administrative staff to resolve discrepancies or delays.
  • Support periodic recognition ceremonies and events, including logistics, scheduling, and materials preparation.
  • Provide general HR administrative support as needed.
  • Perform timekeeping duties in ATAAPS, including inputting hours, validating timesheet accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with Air Force and DoD timekeeping policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for timecard questions, corrections, and training for assigned personnel.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and support reporting requirements related to time and attendance.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.
