About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Administrative Support professional to join our HR team on a 6-month temporary contract. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources. The successful candidate will assist with daily administrative functions within the HR department and provide support to the Director of Human Resources in areas including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and employee inquiries.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems (an asset).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
  • Strong administrative, time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous administrative experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources practices and employment standards is beneficial.
  • Knowledge in ADP would be advantageous but not required.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities including posting job ads, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, preparing offer letters and new hire packages.
  • Participate in career fairs and recruitment initiatives to help attract top talent.
  • Support onboarding activities and help facilitate new hire orientations.
  • Assist with employee offboarding processes and exit interviews.
  • Preparation of weekly employee staffing update and monthly safety related reports.
  • Assist with benefits, wellness program and RRSP administration, including enrolling new members and updating records.
  • Maintain accurate electronic employee records and ensure HRIS information is current and organized.
  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and participate in Social Committee activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of HR and assist with various HR projects and tasks as required.
