About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Pay is based on the location of the selected applicant; salary listed reflects applicants applying in Anchorage or Juneau. As a Human Resource Technician 2 on the Learning & Development team, you’ll help keep our statewide Learning & Performance programs running smoothly. You’ll report directly to the Human Resource Consultant 3 and work closely with the Learning & Development Manager and another Human Resource Technician 2. The role involves helping employees and supervisors navigate AspireAlaska, our statewide learning and performance management system. Responsibilities include responding to help desk tickets, answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with training and performance-related tasks. This may involve responding to emails, instant messages, or virtual calls. The role also supports Learning & Performance by setting up performance tasks, supporting evaluation cycles, assisting with training administration, creating certificates, managing records, and helping with office hours and other Learning & Development activities. The team also focuses on simplifying processes, reducing unnecessary steps, and improving efficiency. The position requires attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and a problem-solving mindset. The Learning & Development Program is the State of Alaska's hub for professional growth, aiming to develop supervisors and employees who lead with integrity and do great work on behalf of Alaskans. Requirements

  • Six months of entry technical level experience in human resource work equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience.
  • One year of postsecondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours from an accredited college or university equals one year) in any field.
  • Self-Management: Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.
  • Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
