About The Position

The Department of Law is seeking a leader in human resources (HR) to help guide the department through all of our HR needs. This position will supervise one HR technician who is responsible for recruitment services. This position will be key to the success of the department, working closely with the executive team to strategize, plan, and implement improvements to recruitment and retention efforts throughout the department. Additionally, this position will be the liaison connecting and guiding staff with the appropriate help at the Department of Administration, if the topic falls under the consolidated HR functions handled there. The Administrative Services Division provides core administrative services essential to the day-to-day operation of the Department of Law. Centralized administrative services include: Budgeting and financial forecasting, Fiscal and accounting, Procurement, Human resources, Information technology services. Requirements

  • Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, case law, principles, and practices related to employee conduct, performance, and dispute resolution (Employee Relations).
  • Knowledge of employee development concepts, principles, and practices related to planning, evaluating, and administering training, organizational development, and career development initiatives (Employee Development).
  • Knowledge of HR concepts, principles, and practices related to determining workload projections and current and future competency gaps to align human capital with organizational goals (Workforce Planning).

  • Training in human resource management, business administration, or organizational leadership and professional experience in human resources (such as recruitment, payroll, classification and compensation, employee and labor-management relations, employer provided benefit programs, employment law compliance, or employee training) or business administration.
