About The Position

The HR Assistant supports all human resources functions for a warehousing and logistics operation. This position partners with warehouse leadership to recruit, onboard, develop, and retain employees while ensuring compliance with employment laws, company policies, and safety requirements. The HR Assistant serves as a resource for employees and supervisors and helps foster a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or Minimum of 2 years of HR experience required.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for warehouse associates, forklift operators, leads, and administrative positions.
  • Coordinate job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and hiring processes.
  • Conduct pre-employment activities including background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification.
  • Attend hiring events, job fairs, and community recruiting initiatives.
  • Monitor staffing levels and turnover trends to support workforce planning.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Ensure completion of all required employment documentation and compliance forms.
  • Coordinate employee training schedules and onboarding checklists.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding company policies, benefits, and workplace expectations.
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and workplace issues.
  • Conduct investigations related to policy violations, attendance concerns, and employee complaints.
  • Partner with supervisors to address performance issues and corrective actions.
  • Support conflict resolution and promote positive employee relations throughout the workforce.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify trends affecting retention.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes.
  • Coordinate employee communications regarding benefits and leave programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Partner with operations leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Coordinate employee safety training and onboarding.
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data.
  • Process personnel changes, including hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Prepare HR reports related to turnover, attendance, headcount, recruiting, and safety metrics.
  • Assist with audits and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Support payroll processes and timekeeping administration as needed.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned
