About The Position

Join our team at the Columbus Developmental Center! The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care agency focused on implementing our core values and providing support to people with developmental disabilities. We oversee a statewide system of supportive services that focus on ensuring the health and safety, supporting access to community participation, and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. Requirements

  • 2 yrs. exp. in human resources.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration.
  • 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Associate, 64611.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

  • Skill in operation of personal computer.

Responsibilities

  • Assist central office payroll with timesheet review, pay adjustments, and leave auditing.
  • Support employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries related to retirement, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and disability programs.
  • Assist with FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs by reviewing documentation, tracking entitlements, issuing required notices, coordinating return-to-work procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and employee training, including scheduling, materials preparation, facilitation, and recordkeeping and scheduling interviews.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings with new or promoted employees.
  • Participate in engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Provide cross-trained support across all HR functions—including staffing, benefits, payroll, leave administration, EEO/ADA compliance, and labor relations—to ensure continuity of services and effective HR operations.
