About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Care or designee, the HUC performs office, secretarial, and related duties for an assigned unit. The position coordinates services to support completion of the unit’s daily activities and plans, organizes, and directs patient-focused support activities, including coordinating ancillary patient and unit services and requests for equipment and supplies. The HUC also assists the Manager, Patient Care or designee with assigned duties and responsibilities. This is a 32-hour position at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts, working a day/evening shift from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation. Compensation is based on experience, with a stated pay range of $17.86 to $25.71 per hour.

Requirements

Education equal to completion of four years of high school, plus additional specialized courses or training.
Over three months and up to and including one year of related work experience.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for an exemption for medical or personal reasons and sign a statement choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

Computer skills, including knowledge of the Meditech computer system.
Related secretarial experience.

Responsibilities
