About The Position
Southcoast Health is seeking a HUC for its 7B unit at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Massachusetts. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Care or designee, the HUC performs office, secretarial, and related duties in support of the assigned unit. The role coordinates unit services to help ensure daily activities are completed efficiently and effectively, plans and organizes patient-focused support activities, coordinates ancillary patient and unit services, and responds to equipment and supply requests. The HUC also assists the Manager, Patient Care or designee with assigned duties and responsibilities. This position is scheduled for 24 hours per week: two shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and one shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday, with those shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $16.10 to $25.94 per hour. Requirements
- Education equivalent to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training.
- More than three months and up to and including one year of related work experience.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for and sign a statement of exemption for medical or personal reasons after hire.
Nice To Haves
- Computer skills, including knowledge of the computer system.
- Related secretarial experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform office, secretarial, and related duties within and in support of the assigned unit.
- Coordinate services to support the efficient and effective completion of the assigned nursing unit's daily activities.
- Plan, organize, and direct patient-focused unit support activities.
- Coordinate ancillary patient and unit services and requests for equipment and supplies.
- Assist the Manager, Patient Care or designee with assigned duties and responsibilities.
