About The Position

The HTM Imaging Tech III maintains and supports MRI systems based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, oversees MRI equipment across Northwest Wisconsin, and provides regional support to other Mayo Hospital sites in Wisconsin as needed. The role maintains complex medical equipment through effective implementation of Mayo Clinic’s Medical Equipment Management Plan. It requires technical expertise in the installation, maintenance, calibration, repair, and quality assurance of imaging and related systems typically found in Radiology, Surgery, and Cardiology. The technician is expected to deliver customer-focused service with strong communication and interpersonal skills, prioritize service calls, and follow Mayo Clinic policies and procedures. The role requires adherence to radiation safety, stored-energy safety, and equipment-failure contingency requirements, while monitoring and minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure. The technician applies advanced analytical skills to resolve highly complex technical issues promptly and develops mastery of increasingly complex equipment through ongoing learning. Service calls come through HTM Leadership, HTM Support Specialists, or a CMMS dashboard. Emergent customer calls may require rapid response. The position requires on-call work, overtime, non-standard shifts, travel to other Mayo Clinic sites, and applicable vendor training. A Technician III demonstrates mastery of imaging repair principles, succeeds with the most complex imaging repairs, and often works with and shares knowledge with less experienced technicians.
