About The Position

This position is for a High School Softball Assistant Coach at SMMHS. Non-faculty and classified employee coaches are required to complete specific NFHS courses, including 'Fundamentals of Coaching' and 'First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches', prior to assuming the role. Previous completion of the ASEP Coaches Education Course before May 15, 2013, may exempt coaches from these requirements. Additionally, coaches must maintain updated certifications for concussion and sudden cardiac arrest, and complete the 'NFHS Heat Illness Prevention' and 'NFHS COVID-19' courses annually.

Requirements

• Completion of NFHS 'Fundamentals of Coaching' course (or prior ASEP completion before May 15, 2013).
• Completion of NFHS 'First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches' course (or prior ASEP completion before May 15, 2013).
• Annual completion of 'NFHS Heat Illness Prevention' course.
• Annual completion of NFHS COVID-19 Course.
• Annual concussion certificate on file.
• Annual Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificate on file.

Responsibilities

• Complete NFHS 'Fundamentals of Coaching' course.

• Maintain a copy of the concussion certificate on file annually.
• Maintain a copy of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificate on file annually.
