HR Shared Services Analyst

Caliber Collision•Lewisville, TX

About The Position

The HR Shared Services Analyst is the critical connection point between the HRIS team, Payroll, and HR Support/Service Center functions, including mergers and acquisitions. Working independently with minimal oversight, the Analyst evaluates how HRIS configuration decisions affect payroll and employee service, uses independent judgment to resolve complex and ambiguous cross-functional issues, and recommends changes to systems, processes, and controls affecting the broader Teammate Services function. The role calls for analytical judgment and decision-making authority on significant matters, rather than simply executing defined procedures. The ideal candidate combines deep HRIS fluency with strong payroll and HR knowledge. The Analyst serves as a senior point of resolution for system-level matters, assesses the downstream impact of HRIS changes, partners with HRIS on testing and UAT, and translates technical changes into guidance for non-technical stakeholders. The role also includes resolving cross-functional cases and escalations, maintaining process maps and SOPs, leading process improvement efforts, generating reports for HR, Payroll, and Finance leadership, and supporting audits that require documentation of system data flows and controls.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in HRIS administration, payroll operations, or HR shared services.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms such as Workday, UKG, ADP, or SAP.
  • Understanding of payroll fundamentals, including pay cycles, tax withholding, deductions, and compliance basics.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex problems and determine solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate technical or system concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and cross-functional issue resolution.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with system implementations or upgrades, including UAT participation.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining an HR ticketing system.
  • Prior experience in an HR Shared Services analyst or process improvement role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior point of resolution for system-level matters beyond the scope of HR Support and Payroll.
  • Identify recurring patterns and design systemic solutions rather than applying repeated corrections.
  • Assess and communicate downstream impacts of HRIS configuration changes, including new fields, workflow updates, integration changes, and system upgrades, to Payroll and HR Support.
  • Partner with HRIS on testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system changes, representing the payroll and HR support perspective.
  • Translate technical system changes into plain-language guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Triage and resolve tickets or cases spanning HRIS, payroll, and HR support, including discrepancies caused by system syncing issues.
  • Provide tier-2 escalation support to HR Support/Service Center representatives needing system-level troubleshooting.
  • Recommend systemic fixes for recurring issues rather than one-off corrections.
  • Maintain current process maps and SOPs showing how employee data moves across systems, such as HRIS, payroll, and benefits.
  • Identify manual handoffs that should be automated or redesigned and lead those improvement efforts.
  • Generate cross-functional reports for HR, Payroll, and Finance leadership as needed.
  • Support internal or external audits requiring documentation of data flows and controls between systems.
