About The Position

The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture is hiring a resourceful, service-minded HR Operations Coordinator for a limited-duration role. The coordinator connects UTIA Human Resources, HR Partners across the state, and UT Knoxville Human Resources to help personnel actions proceed accurately and on time. The role combines hands-on HR operations with problem solving, cross-unit coordination, reporting, and process improvement in a large, complex university environment. The position reviews HR transactions and service requests, coordinates personnel actions in DASH, monitors work queues, resolves routine issues, and escalates matters with compliance, payroll, or operational implications. It supports colleagues with documentation, process steps, system requirements, and routing expectations, and coordinates annual activities such as faculty promotion and tenure, College of Veterinary Medicine resident and intern onboarding, and the college’s career path cycle. The coordinator develops and maintains intake forms, trackers, dashboards, reports, procedures, job aids, and training materials. The role analyzes workflows and operational data to identify delays, recurring errors, workload trends, and opportunities to reduce duplication or rework, and helps implement approved improvements. This is a hybrid position based in Knoxville, Tennessee, with on-campus coverage required three or more days per week. The schedule is first shift, with occasional evening or weekend work possibly required. The role is limited-duration. The anticipated hiring range is $48,000–$53,000.
