About The Position

G&C Food Distributors is a re-distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food, storing and delivering over 4,000 food items to customers across 27 states and 35 countries. The company is rapidly expanding and seeking a professional and dynamic Onboarding Partner in Syracuse, NY. This role involves a variety of HR tasks including recruiting, onboarding, and maintaining HRIS data. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, self-driven, and a team player, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced HR environment. As a service organization, the HR department requires representatives to be patient, flexible, and treat all employees warmly and accommodatingly.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Federal and multi-state HR laws and DOL procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: relationship building, enthusiasm, and ability to lean into challenging situations.
  • Diplomatic and proactive in keeping recruiting and onboarding efforts moving forward.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills, including ADP Workforce, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple and complex administrative processes.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Associate degree in a related field required.
  • Application tracking and HRIS Experience required.
  • 3+ years' experience in HR for a medium-sized company required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in recruiting required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification preferred.
  • Bilingual preference.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company while performing HR tasks including Recruiting, Onboarding, and maintaining accurate data in HRIS systems.
  • Present to small/medium-sized groups of employees.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of recruiting: reviewing applications, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, assisting with agendas, arranging travel, collecting paperwork, and communicating with applicants.
  • Handle onboarding processes: initiating background checks and medical testing, entering data into HRIS, creating first day/week agendas, answering new hire questions, coordinating with relevant parties, supporting hiring managers, and following up with new hires.
  • Administer and conduct company orientations covering company culture, state/federal documentation, and handbook policies.
  • Ensure internal electronic and physical bulletin boards are up-to-date regarding onboarding, candidate pipeline, and other requested information.
  • Take ownership of FLSA classification and compliance.
  • Work independently and as part of a team with employees at all levels.
  • Lead and promote diversity recruitment efforts.
  • Respond to and resolve employee concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of critical information and data.
  • Work under moderate supervision and oversight.
  • Manage employee offer letters, exit interviews, and other communications.
