About The Position

Silgan Containers is seeking an HR Generalist to support its manufacturing plant in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The role supports employees and plant leadership across shifts, with a visible presence on the manufacturing floor and a focus on employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, HR administration, engagement, compliance, payroll-related tasks, and plant support. The Kenosha plant operates 24/7, so the position requires flexibility to interact with employees working different shifts. The HR Generalist builds relationships with hourly employees, supervisors, and plant leadership; responds to employee questions and workplace concerns; conducts investigations; and supports disciplinary matters. The role also recruits and hires hourly manufacturing employees, coordinates pre-employment checks, leads orientation and onboarding, maintains HR records, administers leave-related processes, supports benefits administration and employment-law compliance, processes labor-hour and timekeeping information, and assists with purchasing and accounts payable activities. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred. Candidates need either two years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment or seven or more years of HR Generalist experience. Silgan describes the role as an opportunity for long-term career growth in an essential industry and offers competitive benefits.
