About The Position

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting Illegal Pete's restaurant and home office teams by owning HR processes, benefits administration, and internal customer service. This role requires a deep understanding of the company's software, systems, and processes to assist team members and managers with daily HR inquiries. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, organized, discreet, and professional, able to work independently while embodying the company's values. This position involves being present in restaurants and the office to build relationships with employees.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of HR, payroll, and benefits experience preferred
  • Experience with Paylocity or a similar web-based HRIS system
  • Basic knowledge of Colorado labor law, including FAMLI and related leave programs
  • Ability to handle confidential information, operate with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable processing large volumes of employee data, including some manual processes
  • Systems and processed focused; always finding ways to utilize technology and improve process
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines consistently
  • Excellent customer service skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Own HR communication, support and respond to team members’ needs, including health benefit questions, W-2 requests, FAMLI requests, Paylocity access issues, tax changes, and more.
  • Support restaurant leaders with people related questions including policy, onboarding, HRIS functionality, benefits, training certifications, job postings, workers compensation, etc.
  • Provide reporting needed for Illegal Pete’s drivers, responsible alcohol service and Servsafe training, birthday and anniversaries, and concert ticket requests.
  • Coordinate policy acknowledgment, certifications, and other field level support needed.
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new employees throughout the organization.
  • Prepare Colorado separation forms and other required documentation, and assist with offboarding.
  • Coordinate FAMLI benefits and wage responses for Colorado employees.
  • Administer workers compensation program, supporting injured team member, education of restaurant leadership, identifying safety opportunity, and assisting with back to work.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information at all times.
  • Support Home Office administrative needs including office supplies, events & celebrations.
  • Administer medical, dental, vision, HSA, and 401(k) enrollments and changes.
  • Review benefit eligibility and guide team members through enrollment.
  • Play a key role in benefits education, annual open enrollment, and monthly administration.
  • Review benefit eligibility and enrollment for 401(k) plan, support annual audit.
  • Educate leaders and team members about available benefits including EAP, CO Paid FAMLI, health benefits, and 401(k).
  • Respond to Colorado FAMLI leave requests.
  • Review annual 1095s and other benefit related filings.
  • Maintain Paylocity: job descriptions, onboarding packages, and job codes.
  • Manage AMAZE file processing and data flows between systems.
  • Support leadership in drafting HR training materials for restaurant leaders.
  • Establish and document best practices benefits, recruitment and HR processes.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new employees across the organization.
  • Be present in the restaurants and home office— get to know the people you support.
  • Be a team player: support company and HR initiatives, from new benefit offerings to culture-building activities.
