About The Position

As a HR Generalist, you’ll be part of our Human Resources team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll manage HR programs, Talent Development, and policies/procedures for the business. You’ll be responsible for developing positive employee relations, effective communications, training & development, safety, benefits administration, recruitment & hiring. You will build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business with the highest degree of integrity and discretion. You will provide support to all HR functions such as onboarding, benefits, compensation, and training. You will use policies and principles to coordinate HR related projects and represent employee advocacy and strong business partner relations. You will develop an employee-oriented culture that strives on safety, quality, continuous improvement and productivity. You will work together with employees, supervisors and managers to resolve employee relations issues. You will develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures, and reinforce and advocate for the Open Door Policy across the leadership team. You will prepare and maintain a handbook on policies and procedures and foster a consistent, clear, concise communication plan. You will plan and coordinate recruitment strategies, including sourcing (internet, job fairs, newspapers, agencies etc.), interviewing, selection, diversity initiatives, background checks, drug testing and manpower planning. You will handle FMLA/Disability administration/Worker’s Compensation administration. You will administer associate training, and new hire orientation. You will participate in working groups, councils and committees and serve as payroll specialist when needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an HR Generalist
  • Thorough knowledge of wide range of HR/legal standards & regulations, programs, processes, and tools in all areas ranging from recruitment, benefits, training, and payroll.
  • Self-starting, results-oriented individual who is team oriented.
  • Effective organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and priorities as well as deal with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
  • Willing to work additional hours to cover off shifts for communication rhythms.
  • Willing to relocate to other Stanley Black & Decker facilities as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
