About The Position

The HR Coordinator supports the HR department and employees across the organization. This role is responsible for assisting with HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, recordkeeping, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. The coordinator provides frontline support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs, serving as the point of contact for HR related questions on the production floor. The position also involves maintaining and updating digital employee records, managing the time management process, coordinating with staffing agencies for temporary contractors, and supporting the employee onboarding and corporate recruitment processes. Additionally, the HR Coordinator assists with worker’s compensation claims, administrative tasks in employee termination, and owns HR & safety reporting. The role ensures AAP applicant information accuracy, supports the creation of HR-related PowerPoint presentations, cultivates positive workforce engagement, and supports safety efforts by coordinating training events and drills. Collaboration with the Office Manager for event planning and HR training setup, as well as support for internal and external audits and special projects, are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a human resources or administrative capacity.
  • Demonstrated communications skills both verbal and written; must communicate well on the telephone.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interface with other departments and management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Excellent computer skills, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creation of PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook invites.
  • Ability to think and make decisions independently with limited direction.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must not be specifically barred from working with Federal contracts, government entities or otherwise listed on excluded parties list as maintained by the Federal government.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong preference for manufacturing or other regulated industry experience.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the HR department and employees across the organization.
  • Assists with HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, recordkeeping, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provides frontline support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Serves as the point of contact for HR related questions on the production floor.
  • Maintains and updates digital employee records in the electronic filing system as well as HRIS in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Manages time management process ensuring timekeeping, time-off requests, attendance points reporting system and time-off balances are accurate.
  • Coordinates with staffing agencies for the onboarding, timekeeping, attendance tracking and invoicing approval of temporary contractors.
  • Supports the employee onboarding process to include employee setup in the HRIS system, coordination of requests for company systems access, computer setup, scheduling of onboarding activities, and communication with candidates throughout the onboarding process.
  • Supports the corporate recruitment process: Schedules candidates for interviews with hiring managers and human resources.
  • Greets candidates upon arrival and escorts them to interviews.
  • Assists with initial resume screening for positions with high candidate volume.
  • Assists with worker’s compensation claim filing, tracking of employee status throughout the duration of the claim, communication of work restrictions, and authorizations for treatment with occupational health provider.
  • Assists with administrative tasks in the employee termination process.
  • Owns HR & safety reporting related but not limited to workplace injuries, turnover and absenteeism while identifying trends to be escalated to leadership.
  • Ensures all AAP applicant information is accurate in support of the company’s Affirmative Action efforts.
  • Provides support and is the subject matter expert for the creation of human resources related PowerPoint presentations.
  • Cultivates positive workforce engagement in a shift-based environment, as well as supporting lean initiative and culture programs on the production floor.
  • Supports safety efforts by coordinating training events and drills.
  • Supports delivery of annual training in collaboration with the quality & regulatory department.
  • Collaborates with the Office Manager to coordinate company and employee event planning as well as any HR training setup.
  • Provides support for internal and external audits.
  • Assists human resources on special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
