About The Position

The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources function, including HRIS administration and staffing/employment activities. This role maintains accurate and organized employee files, inputs and verifies employee data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and processes various forms related to HR activities such as new hires, job requisitions, status changes, and terminations. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supports recruiting efforts, including posting job requisitions, monitoring applicant flow, and screening resumes/applications.
  • Facilitates the full new hire and onboarding process, including preparing and sending offer letters, coordinating background checks and drug screens, processing new hire paperwork.
  • Completes I-9 employment eligibility verifications in compliance with federal requirements, including timely documentation review and processing.
  • Supports the termination process by distributing required documentation to managers and employees, confirming termination details, and processing transactions in HRIS.
  • Maintains employee personnel files and ensures accuracy and confidentiality of employee records.
  • Enters, audits, and maintains employee data within the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and timely updates.
  • Processes employee status changes, job changes, and other HR-related forms submitted by managers.
  • Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by ensuring HR processes and documentation align with established policies.
  • Compiles HR-related data and assists in preparing reports.
  • Consults with higher-level HR staff on matters outside the scope of the role, including complex employee relations, legal issues, or organizational changes.
