About The Position

The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring, and work areas. Guest-room cleaning includes changing bed linens, emptying trash, vacuuming carpets, and dusting furniture. The Houseperson also assists room attendants by supplying linens and other supplies, and helps maintain clean and orderly hotel areas while providing warm, friendly service to guests. Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Reliable transportation to and from work.

Strong attention to detail.
High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Strip rooms by removing bed linens, terry, and trash.
Clean hallways, corridors, elevators, stairways, ice rooms, trash areas, and linen closets.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners.
Dust fixtures, frames, and equipment.
Polish metalwork, including fixtures and fittings.
Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
Empty wastebaskets.
Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
Stock and deliver supplies and linens to room attendants.
Replace light bulbs.
Follow material safety data sheet regulations when using chemicals.
Report to scheduled shifts on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
Comply with company policies and procedures pertaining to the position and its duties.
Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
Perform other related duties as required.
