About The Position

The Houseperson keeps the hotel’s public areas clean and welcoming, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms. The role also handles heavier cleaning projects such as carpet care, floor polishing, and dusting hard-to-reach areas. The Houseperson maintains and organizes cleaning carts and supply closets, supports Room Attendants by restocking linens, removing trash, and preparing rooms for guests, and responds promptly to guest requests and safety concerns. This is a full-time position at the Norfolk Sheraton, 777 Waterside Drive, Norfolk, VA 23510. The compensation range is $15.00–$15.75 per hour, with actual pay based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. The schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Keen eye for detail.
Ability to walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and remain active throughout the shift.
Flexible schedule, including availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Janitorial or hotel cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to clean thoroughly without disturbing guests.
