About The Position
The Houseperson assists the Laundry Attendant and performs various cleaning and stocking duties to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hotel. This role involves removing dirty linen, replacing it with clean linen, stocking storage rooms, cleaning guest rooms when assigned, and performing other tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager. The Houseperson is also responsible for maintaining security for guests and property by adhering to all safety and security regulations.
Requirements
- The ability to read, write and speak English.
- Previous hotel-related housekeeping experience.
- Sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands to finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; lift boxes (up to 15 pounds); talk and hear.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Laundry Attendant in his/her duties.
- Removes dirty linen from Room attendants’ carts and replaces with clean line.
- Stock all storage rooms with supplies.
- Cleans guest rooms when assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
- Performs other task as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager (vacuuming corridors, cleaning public areas, employee restrooms, washing windows, checking rooms, etc.).
- Maintains security for guests and property by following all security and safety regulations (i.e. cleans work area, removes all linen from dryers, turns off dryers at the end of the day, doesn’t smoke while on duty, etc.).
