About The Position

The Houseperson maintains and cleans office spaces throughout the property and hotel public areas, keeps guest room halls clean, and ensures areas are free of safety hazards. The role includes delivering internal and external guest requests and transporting linen between the loading dock, guestroom floors, laundry chute, and carts for laundering. The Houseperson is expected to interact with customers and fellow team members in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner, report linen shortages to Housekeeping Supervisors or the Manager, and perform other duties assigned by a supervisor or member of management.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Good communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other team members.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American money and units of weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
• Physical demands include regularly talking or hearing; frequently standing, walking, sitting, handling or feeling with hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and smelling; and occasionally climbing or balancing. Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds.
• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold or heat, and risk of electrical shock. Noise level is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

• Transport linen from the loading dock to guestroom floors.
• Pull linen from the laundry chute and place it in carts to be sent out for laundering.
• Perform other duties assigned by a supervisor or member of management.
