About The Position
The Houseperson Utility maintains cleanliness throughout the hotel, supports Room Attendants by keeping their supply carts emptied in a timely manner, and assists with room cleaning and guest requests. The role is expected to deliver excellent customer service, contribute to a warm and friendly atmosphere, work well as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and follow company policies and gaming regulations. The position involves operating cleaning equipment and using appropriate chemicals, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning interior and exterior surfaces, and performing deep cleaning of rooms. It also includes assisting Room Attendants with linen, trash, and bed-stripping duties, making up rooms when needed, and delivering requested guest amenities. Employees are expected to demonstrate positive, attentive service, anticipate guest needs, resolve problems using the Service Recovery process, promote Total Rewards programs, and thank guests for visiting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to company policies and gaming regulations.

Responsibilities
- Maintain overall cleanliness of the hotel and keep Room Attendants’ supply carts emptied in a timely manner.
- Transport cleaning equipment up and down ramps.
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets daily.
- Wash windows inside and out.
- Clean walls, light fixtures, louvers, ceilings, shelves, outside walls, and cement walls.
- Operate and control mechanical equipment, including rotary machines, blowers, back vacuums, and a golf cart.
- Clean and empty shampooers, buffers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
- Recognize and use appropriate cleaning chemicals.
- Assist Room Attendants with stripping beds, emptying trash, bringing fresh linen, and related responsibilities.
- Make up rooms when needed.
- Deliver requested guest amenities, including pillows, additional beds, and blankets.
- Perform deep cleaning of rooms.
- Provide attentive guest service, anticipate needs, address problems through the Service Recovery process, promote Total Rewards programs and card membership, and thank guests for visiting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
