About The Position

This position performs cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas at Banner Estrella Medical Center. As part of the environmental services team, the Housekeeper helps maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff while minimizing interference with others. This is a registry/per diem position with no guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package. The primarily available shift is Saturday and Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally.
Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals, and to complete chemical identification stickers.

Nice To Haves

Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques are preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing, according to departmental policies and procedures; plan daily task completion.
Empty hampers and transport soiled linen; empty trash containers and remove trash; empty medical waste containers, including sharps.
Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas.
Keep departmental equipment clean, use and protect it properly, log equipment in and out, and notify appropriate personnel when repairs are needed.
Perform special projects as needed, such as washing windows or walls and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings.
Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors and meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals.
Work under regular supervision in an assigned facility or area and serve internal and external customers.
