Groundskeeper - Estrella Hall
About The Position
The Groundskeeper maintains buildings, grounds, common areas, and amenities at an ACC student housing community to support cleanliness and curb appeal. The role works with the service team on general property maintenance, apartment make-ready work, and turnover tasks. Training is provided, and opportunities may be available to gain certifications, support nearby properties, and grow through on-the-job learning. The position requires safely operating facility equipment and following safety protocols. The Groundskeeper also helps keep shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean, orderly, and organized. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of general labor, housekeeping, and cleaning tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including understanding and following MSDS rules for handling and using chemicals.
- Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with facilities maintenance is helpful but not required.
- Experience in or willingness to learn general labor and apartment maintenance.
- Reliability, attention to detail, ability to work safely, and ability to contribute to maintaining a well-presented environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean the interior and exterior of the property to standard.
- Maintain property grounds, including collecting trash.
- Vacuum, mop, and/or shampoo floors in resident rooms and common areas, and stock bathrooms.
- Assist the service team with work orders, moving furniture, and unloading and storing supplies.
- Support apartment make-ready duties, including trash outs, cleaning, and painting.
- Assist in the property turnover process.
- Support pool maintenance, if applicable, and pressure washing.
- Safely operate facility equipment while adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Keep shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and orderly, with tools and supplies organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Serve as an American Campus representative and liaison in interactions.
