About The Position
Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention center/arena, or other institutional buildings clean and orderly. The role includes cleaning and maintaining a range of rooms, common areas, furnishings, fixtures, and floors. Other duties may be assigned. Despite the title, the posting states that this job has no supervisory responsibilities. No prior experience or training is required. The employee must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and communicate information in English in one-on-one and small-group settings. Basic arithmetic and common-sense reasoning to carry out simple instructions are required. No computer skills or certifications are needed.
Requirements

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in English in one-on-one and small-group situations.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with few or no variables.
- No computer skills needed.
- No certifications needed.
- Must meet the physical demands described, including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Polish metalwork.
- Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
- Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
- Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
