About The Position

Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention center/arena, or other institutional buildings clean and orderly. The role performs cleaning and upkeep duties including cleaning fixtures and surfaces, rooms and common areas, floors, furnishings, walls, windows, and waste. No prior experience or training is required. The posting states that the job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• No prior experience or training required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information effectively in English in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
• Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• No computer skills needed.
• No certifications needed.
• Ability to meet the listed physical demands, including regularly standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing; frequently climbing or balancing and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dust furniture and equipment and polish metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, and clean ashtrays.
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
