About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for administering and coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections, as well as assuming all Housekeeping Manager functions in their absence. This role requires adherence to the company's Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life, and participation in all hotel required meetings and trainings. Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform/business attire and nametag, is essential. The supervisor will inspect Room Attendant's work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity are met, and in the absence of management, inspect VIP rooms and report their availability to the Front Office. Responsibilities include overseeing the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and restocked, managing daily assignment records, maintaining key control, handling lost and found items, and monitoring the cleanliness of various storage and service areas. The supervisor will also ensure Room Attendants and House Attendants have work assignments, carry an active radio for communication, initiate and follow up on work orders for repairs, and assist with staff training. Completion of cleaning projects as scheduled and adherence to all hotel policies and safety rules are also required. Other duties may be requested by management.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Must be able to stand during entire shift.
  • Sitting, bending, squatting, stretching, excessive walking.
  • May have exposure to chemicals.
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Administering and coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections.
  • Assuming all Housekeeping Manager functions in their absence.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Inspecting Room Attendant’s work performance within assigned section on a daily basis to ensure the standards and productivity levels are being met and maintained.
  • In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager, inspecting all V.I.P. rooms and reporting their availability to the Front Office, according to hotel standards.
  • Overseeing the closing of the floors at the end of the day, ensuring the Room Attendants’ carts are clean and restocked.
  • Ensuring records of daily assignments are completed, signed off and turned into the Housekeeping Office on time.
  • Maintaining key control.
  • Handling items for "Lost and Found" according to the standards.
  • Monitoring cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants’ carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  • Overseeing the daily assignment of duties, ensuring Room Attendants and House Attendants carry a work assignment.
  • Carrying an active radio to maintain contact with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift.
  • Initiating work orders for repairs and maintenance and forwarding to Engineering.
  • Following through on each work order until completed.
  • Assisting with training of Housekeeping staff.
  • Ensuring completion of cleaning projects as scheduled.
  • Abiding by all hotel policies and safety rules.
  • Performing other duties as requested by management.
