About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor develops and supervises housekeeping staff to ensure guests receive professional, gracious service. The supervisor trains and coaches employees to follow hotel standards for cleanliness and quality. The role is at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California, a 170-room resort with restaurants, a spa, meeting spaces, and views of the Pacific Ocean and Torrey Pines Golf Course. The position is full-time, with day/evening shifts, and pays $27.70 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training; a combination of experience, education, and/or training may substitute for either requirement.
Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency is required.
Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and professional appearance.
Ability to remain poised under pressure and maintain a diplomatic attitude with challenging guests and stressful circumstances.
Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods, potentially throughout the entire shift, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Project professionalism and courtesy toward guests and associates.
Serve as a role model and foster teamwork, high employee morale, motivation, and open communication.
Coach and direct employees to meet guestroom cleanliness standards.
Inspect guestrooms and public areas regularly to maintain consistent quality and help employees improve their work.
Monitor employees’ scheduled tasks and assignment completion.
Prepare pre-assigned rooms according to established expectations.
Assign and supervise Houseperson duties.
Maintain housekeeping storerooms.
Support the Assistant Director of Housekeeping in managing the housekeeping incentive program.
Promote a safe working environment by providing training and following established safety standards.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
