HVAC Technician I (FT) (AM/PM) ("Técnico/a de HVAC")
About The Position
The HVAC Technician is responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems as needed. The position is based at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, a resort featuring 170 rooms and suites, restaurants, a full-service spa, meeting spaces, and service to guests and coworkers. The role is full-time and non-supervisory, with day/evening shifts listed. Weekend and holiday availability, as well as day or night shift availability, is required. The Lodge at Torrey Pines is owned by Evans Hotels, a family-owned and operated business. Requirements
- At least 4 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Two years of technical training.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays, and day or night shifts.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods, up to and including the entire shift.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lb.
Nice To Haves
- Strong HVAC experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar position at a hotel or similar business entity is preferred.
- Previous experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC-R, and kitchen equipment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Respond to and repair guest and coworker service calls, needs, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of repairs, maintenance, and refrigerant usage for all equipment.
- Comply with EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Drive to on-site or off-site locations to inspect, repair, or maintain equipment and facilities as directed.
- Assist during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators, placing flares, and driving needed vehicles.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
