About The Position
The Cafeteria Cook prepares menu items at a designated station with care and respect for ingredients, technique, and fellow associates. The position is based at the Bahia Resort Hotel in San Diego, California, and is a full-time, non-supervisory food-service role. The hourly pay is $25.60. The cook prepares and presents menu items, follows recipes and techniques consistently, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, and rotates stock to preserve freshness and reduce waste. The role also supports associates in other areas to encourage teamwork and performs other duties assigned by the leadership team. Weekend and holiday availability is required. The position involves standing, kneeling, and squatting for prolonged periods, potentially for an entire shift, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Requirements
- At least 3–12 months of relevant experience and/or training.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire; the company provides the training at its expense.
- Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods, potentially for an entire shift, and lift up to 25 pounds.
