About The Position

The Line Cook III prepares menu items at an assigned station with care and respect for ingredients, technique, and fellow associates. The role sets an example of the pride and professionalism expected in a high-caliber culinary environment. The position is at Dockside 1953, a nautical-inspired restaurant at Bahia Resort Hotel in San Diego, serving fresh California cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a full-time evening-shift position with an hourly pay rate of $26.70.

Requirements

At least 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
Availability to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire; training is provided at the company's expense.
Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods, potentially for the entire shift, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a similar position at a hotel or similar business entity is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure food quality is never compromised and service is not delayed, supporting a strong guest experience.
Maintain fresh, organized mise en place at all times.
Assist other cooks in achieving their goals and foster teamwork and camaraderie.
Prepare and present menu items at the assigned station.
Maintain cleanliness in accordance with Health Department and hotel standards.
Prepare entrees according to restaurant standards by following recipes and established techniques.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
Rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance for scheduled shifts.
Follow established safety and emergency procedures.
Perform additional duties as directed by the Executive Chef and leadership team.
