Housekeeping Services Assistant
About The Position
Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking full-time Housekeeping Services Assistants to join the team at Mill Pond, a senior living community in Ankeny, Iowa. The role maintains cleanliness in work areas, buildings, and grounds and helps provide an attractive, comfortable home environment consistent with regulations and established policies and procedures. Available shifts are 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; all schedules require availability every other weekend. The wage is $15.55–$18.23 or more per hour, based on experience. Mill Pond offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Long Term Care.
Requirements
- Flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, visitors, and the general public.
- Ability to take direction, prioritize duties, and organize work with others.
- Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to communicate with customers.
- Availability to work every other weekend.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas, buildings, and grounds.
- Perform general cleaning, floor care, washing, sanitizing, furniture and fixture polishing, waste removal, supply stocking, and window cleaning.
- Collect laundry from resident rooms and designated areas; sort, label, wash, dry, and distribute linens and residents’ personal clothing according to the assigned schedule.
- Iron articles as required and inspect laundry and linens.
- Inform the supervisor of replacement needs for communication with residents and families.
- Replenish housekeeping and laundry supplies in work areas.
- Clean and properly store equipment, tools, and supplies at the end of each shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
