About The Position

Elmora Hills Healthcare is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Porter to provide quality housekeeping services. The role follows assigned schedules and instructions, completes daily cleaning tasks, maintains housekeeping supplies and equipment, and helps keep the facility safe, clean, and comfortable for residents.

Responsibilities

• Follow housekeeping schedules and instructions and complete assigned daily tasks.
• Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting; set up appropriate caution and safety signs before cleaning.
• Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
• Clean walls and ceilings through washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using appropriate cleaning and disinfecting solutions.
• Replace cubicle curtains as assigned.
• Dispose of waste and trash in appropriate containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
• Keep assigned work areas, resident and non-resident areas, porter closets, and housekeeping storage rooms clean; store equipment, tools, and supplies properly, including before breaks, mealtimes, and the end of the workday.
• Dispose of infectious waste and sharps containers in appropriate containers.
• Perform unscheduled housekeeping and laundry tasks as directed.
• Replenish housekeeping supplies in work areas and inform the immediate supervisor of supply needs.
• Help ensure the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident safety, comfort, and convenience.
• Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
• Assist others with lifting heavy equipment and supplies as directed or requested.
