About The Position

The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor leads the environmental services team and helps maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The role oversees housekeeping and laundry staff, department scheduling, supply inventory and budget controls, cleanliness, sanitation and infection-control inspections, staff training, linen delivery, personal laundry services, and supply-room organization. The position calls for someone with housekeeping or laundry experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and supervisory or leadership experience. The supervisor should communicate clearly, stay organized and detail-oriented while multitasking, understand infection-control and sanitation protocols in long-term care, and demonstrate care and compassion for elderly and disabled individuals.

Requirements

Experience in housekeeping or laundry services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Strong supervisory or leadership experience.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
Understanding of infection-control and sanitation protocols in long-term care.
Genuine care and compassion for elderly and disabled individuals.

Responsibilities

Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping and laundry staff.
Create department schedules aligned with census and labor budgets.
Order and manage supplies while maintaining budget controls.
Perform and oversee mopping, dusting, vacuuming, polishing, and disinfecting.
Conduct routine inspections for sanitation, infection control, and cleanliness compliance.
Train staff in safe and effective cleaning and laundry procedures.
Ensure consistent linen delivery, personal laundry service, and organized supply rooms.
