About The Position

The Housekeeping Houseperson ensures linen is separated and delivered in appropriate quantities to guest-room floors, keeps assigned housekeeping areas clean and stocked, and services assigned public areas to hotel standards. The role also delivers guest-requested items to rooms and provides guest-room service as needed. It requires a friendly, service-oriented approach, regular attendance, compliance with hotel standards and regulations, and the ability to work effectively in stressful, fast-paced hotel operations. The employee may be asked to perform other related duties.

Requirements

• Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance, including high standards of personal hygiene.
• Prior housekeeping experience or relevant environmental-services experience is preferred.
• Stand or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Frequently bend, reach overhead, and squat.
• Be willing to work flexible hours during busy periods and high-profile events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Handle stressful and busy hotel operations while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor and composure.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.

Nice To Haves

• Prior housekeeping experience or other relevant environmental-services experience.

Responsibilities

• Sort and deliver linen received from outside vendors.
• Stock assigned linen-room closets to par and organize the closets.
• Keep guest-floor corridors clean and service assigned public areas.
• Complete guest requests, delivering requested items within 10 minutes and calling the operator back when completed.
• Clean guest rooms upon request.
• Gather cleaning supplies and return them daily.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties in the designated area.
• Report engineering problems or repair needs to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
• Return borrowed guest-room items, such as irons, ironing boards, and hairdryers, to the Housekeeping Department.
• Regularly collect trash and dirty linen from housekeeping areas.
• Bring dirty glasses to housekeeping at the end of the shift.
• Learn hotel facilities to answer guest questions.
• Perform other related duties as requested.
