About The Position

The Houseperson supports the hotel housekeeping team by maintaining clean public spaces, assisting room attendants, and helping ensure guests have a comfortable stay. The role includes guest interaction, restocking linen and amenities, delivering requested items to guest rooms, removing trash and soiled linen, and performing room-attendant duties when needed. The Houseperson is expected to follow departmental procedures and respond to guests and team members in a friendly, helpful manner.

Requirements

Housekeeping experience is desirable.
Neat appearance and a pleasant personality.
Time management skills.
Ability to work on foot for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to move, traverse, and position oneself to reach floor corners and high places; observe conditions and detect odors; and maneuver carts weighing up to 100 pounds in tight spaces.
Ability to operate spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters.
Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
Work as part of a team to maintain resort or hotel cleanliness.
Walk assigned floors at the beginning and end of shifts to collect bags, trash, and soiled linen.
Pick up clean linen and refill linen par stock in each floor pantry.
Deliver towels, cribs, cots, and other requested items to guest rooms.
Perform room attendant duties when necessary.
Refill guest amenities and supplies in each floor pantry.
Assist room attendants with heavy lifting during super cleaning or spring cleaning of rooms.
Clean public areas according to prescribed procedures and departmental standard operating procedures.
Remove soiled linen and trash from service areas and take them to the appropriate locations.
Respond to guests and team members in a friendly, helpful manner.
