About The Position

The Housekeeping Houseperson carries out a variety of tasks to keep hotel premises clean, organized, and well-maintained, contributing to a welcoming and positive guest experience. This is an hourly position paying $16 an hour. Successful completion of a background check is required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Follow the regulations set forth by material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Move and arrange furniture; dust and polish furniture, metalwork, and equipment.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
• Collect soiled linens for laundering and receive and store linen supplies in the linen closet.
• Clean bathrooms and replenish supplies.
• Refurnish rooms with supplies, towels, and other required items.
• Supply the cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for the shift.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, and clean ashtrays.
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
