About The Position

HHS is hiring Housekeeping/Floor Care Technicians for its Environmental Services team at Desoto Memorial. The role provides a high level of cleaning quality in a hospital environment and helps create a safe, clean, and comfortable setting where patients can heal. The listed pay is $15.50 per hour for Housekeepers and $16 per hour for Floor Techs. Full-time positions are available, with day, evening, and night shifts based on facility needs. Applicants must pass a background check and drug screen and provide proof of employment eligibility in the United States. HHS is a private, family-owned business founded in 1975 that provides housekeeping, food, and facility management services to customers across six industries.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
Practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and wear a uniform.
Pass a background check and drug screen and provide proof of employment eligibility in the United States.
Be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, kneel, and reach continuously throughout a shift.
Frequently push, pull, and lift furniture and equipment weighing 25–100 lb.
Continuously push and pull carts or equipment weighing over 100 lb. on tile and carpeted floors.
Handle chemicals including bleach, wax, and disinfectants.
Be able to operate equipment necessary to perform the job’s essential functions.

Nice To Haves

Housekeeping experience, including cleaning, environmental services, custodial or janitorial work, room attendant work, floor care, or floor restoration and project technician work.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned hospital areas, including patient rooms, common areas, and restrooms.
Follow HHS cleaning procedures and best practices.
Provide friendly and kind service to people throughout the hospital.
Perform cleaning, buffing, and bonneting procedures to maintain floors.
Perform floor stripping and extraction projects as assigned.
Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently.
