About The Position
The Housekeeping Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of common areas in a distribution center and performing other assigned duties. Tasks include cleaning cafeterias, offices, floors, restrooms, and outdoor areas, and appropriately handling and disposing of blood or other potentially infectious material spills. The role requires dependable attendance, effective communication, basic computer and handheld technology proficiency, and a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- No education or experience is required.
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Read, understand, and interpret employment policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals in English.
- Be a resourceful self-starter and work well independently and as part of a team.
- Be proficient in using computers and handheld technology.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods; the role may involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and climbing ladders.
- Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of common areas in the distribution center and perform other duties as assigned.
- Clean the cafeteria, including emptying garbage containers.
- Clean outdoor areas, with possible snow removal.
- Clean office areas by vacuuming, dusting, and removing garbage.
- Sweep and buff floors.
- Clean restrooms in accordance with applicable guidelines for bloodborne pathogens.
- Properly clean and dispose of blood or other potentially infectious material spills.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and supports authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
