Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and assigned tasks according to daily work assignments.
• Empty and sanitize ashtrays daily.
• Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and room heating or cooling units in resident rooms and recreational areas.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures, removing watermarks.
• Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance or exit ways.
• Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, damp or wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
• Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
• Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using appropriate cleaning or disinfecting solutions.
• Clean hallways.
• Perform assigned laundry tasks according to established procedures.
• Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry, linens, and garments and place them in appropriate containers or assigned areas.
• Separate laundry items requiring special stain removal or treatment.
• Sort, count, and wash soiled laundry, linens, and garments according to established procedures.
• Press or iron garments as instructed.
• Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linens, and garments to residents daily or as instructed.
• During emergencies, distribute clean laundry, linens, and garments to designated areas as instructed.
• Clean laundry-area floors by sweeping, dusting, and damp or wet mopping.
• Keep laundry-area walls and ceilings clean through washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
