About The Position

The Housekeeping and Laundry Aide maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. The role includes cleaning resident rooms and common areas, and laundering linens and personal clothing in accordance with facility standards, infection control policies, and safety regulations. The position is full-time, located in Grand Island, Nebraska, and is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The role reports to the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment use.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to resident satisfaction.
• Demonstrated professionalism.

Nice To Haves

• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience, especially in healthcare.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas according to schedules and procedures.
• Dust, mop, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces as assigned.
• Collect and launder linens, towels, and residents’ personal clothing.
• Fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry to the proper locations.
• Label residents’ clothing as applicable.
• Operate laundry and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow infection control and isolation cleaning procedures.
• Use appropriate chemicals and cleaning solutions as directed.
• Report repair or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Keep housekeeping carts and storage areas clean and organized.
• Provide respectful and courteous service to residents and staff.
• Adhere to predetermined work dates and times and maintain regular scheduled attendance.
• Complete assignments in a timely manner and work cooperatively with all departments.
• Maintain a consistently professional appearance.
