About The Position

The Environmental Services Worker/Housekeeper position is responsible for performing cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the facility, including residential units, common areas, and non-patient areas. The incumbent maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards while interacting with patients, family members, visitors, and coworkers. This position is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas of the facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all areas throughout the facility. Additional responsibilities may include project work such as wall washing, window washing, cleaning light fixtures, upholstery cleaning, vent cleaning, restroom scrubbing, and other deep-cleaning activities. The individual must possess a willingness to perform routine and repetitive tasks on a continual basis and remain effective despite frequent interruptions. Responsibilities require sound judgment regarding task prioritization, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment are available to complete assigned duties, and performing all tasks with consideration for patients, staff, and visitors. Some initiative is required in determining the cleaning needs of assigned areas. The incumbent works under minimal supervision, performing standardized tasks while adhering to all facility safety policies and procedures. Any unsafe working conditions or hazards must be reported immediately to management.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely use cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining safe work practices.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately document completed assignments.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, and climb for periods of up to eight (8) hours.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment used within the housekeeping department.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must successfully pass a Level 2 Background Screening and complete a pre-employment drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
